It all started in 1932, when Pietro Toscano started delivering ice using a horse and wagon throughout his hometown, Brooklyn New York. About 20 years later the introduction of the refrigerator put Pietro out of business. That’s when he, along with his two sons Bill and Pat, founded P Toscano & Sons Moving. In 1959 they purchased Reliable Van & Storage Co. and became an agent for Allied Vanlines. Since that time, four generations of the Toscano family have maintained the respect and confidence of the moving industry.

The Chariman of Reliable, Pat Toscano has been an icon in the moving business for over 50 years.  Pat’s primary contribution to the organization was nurturing business relations with other global moving agents and multi-national corporate accounts.  His primary concern was ALWAYS customer satisfaction, and he instilled the entire Reliable workforce with his commitment to doing to the job right.

The current President and CEO of Reliable, Mr. Peter Toscano has been with the company since his college graduation in 1973. As the 3 generation, Peter has brought Reliable to even greater heights by entering into relocation agreements with a number of Fortune 500 companies. He also has developed a well-known commercial reputation in the New York Metropolitan area.

In 2006 Reliable continued its expansion by adding a consumer sales division, which was run by Peter Jr., the 4 generation Toscano. In just a short period of time, the consumer division has shown significant growth, and in 2012 Reliable was named New Jersey Mover of the Year by the New Jersey Movers and Warehouseman’s Association.

Reliable has come a long way, from a horse and wagon to maintaining a fleet of 75 units and over 120,000 square feet of warehouse space. With moving roughly 3,800 customers every year and maintaining an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau since 2009, I’d say we are definitely moving forward.
